Analysis Report
This is a report presented not only to finished the required task but also a report who introduced the curriculum on Aklan National High School for Arts and Trades who gave us an additional information and knowledge about the importance and role of curriculum in the dynamic and over changing society.
Anything on this paper is due to the Case observation we’ve conducted last December 09,2014 at 9:00 to 10:00 o’clock in the morning to analyze their Vision and Mission on how are they reach and implemented such curriculum to achieve their mission and vision and also the needs of their students. This activity had conducted to understand the curriculum of Aklan National High School for Arts and Trades. Mr. Richard Flores said during our interview with him, ”Our school is a technical-vocational institution which focus on the skills development as well as cognitive and affective areas and our competencies is based on TESDA training regulation that after completed the competencies before they graduate in Junior high school, they have already skills assessment on NAT CAP( National Competency Assessment of certification) ”. This statement had already proven that their Vision and Mission to provide a quality technical-vocational education had achieved. This is a good curriculum to achieve their mission to adapt to the challenges of the global demands. Why? It is because today, if you apply in industry, you should have a National Certification (NC II). But how did you improve and achieve the skills development of your students? One of our questions. He said, “We have our different categories or areas in skills development such as Cosmetology, Food trade, Drafting and a lot more. And this is the uniqueness of ANHSAT Curriculum and also the advantage of this curriculum compared to others. The ANHSAT has their specialization in vocational area that’s why their Junior graduates have already their NC II compared to the curriculum of K to 12 where the technical-vocational courses shall offered only in Senior High school, therefore their curriculum is more advanced because their junior graduates are already NC II Holder. But their academic area is based on K to 12 and also their Grading system. It is because it is also stated on their mission and vision a quality academic.
Therefore, we find out that their curriculum is truly suitable to the demands of the society. They trained and educate citizen to fit in society but not to educate citizen to change society. That was one thing I’m searching for their mission and vision of their institution.
